 Dear David,

Greetings!

As autumn approaches we begin to get excited about the change in the weather, the change in the leaves, and possibly even the change in our wardrobe.

As we move on to warmer comfort foods, slacks and sweaters, Attention to Detail Home Remodeling would like to give you some tips to help you keep your house warm as the weather changes:

  • Low-E windows help keep the heat in during the winter and out during the summer.
  • Timely changing of your furnace filter can improve performance of your HVAC unit and reduce the amount of energy you use to heat your home.

We also would like to share some of our great company news:

  • Attention to Detail received high ratings from review websites.
  • In addition to our Certified Kitchen and Bath remodeler, we now have a Certified Lead Carpenter on our team.

All this information and more can be found in this newsletter.

As always, please take advantage of numerous homeowner tips from our archives! If you would like additional information-or insights about a topic we have not covered, please contact us!

Feel free to pass this newsletter on to any family and friends.  You know the peace of mind you receive once you've found a trusted remodeler. Your friends and family could feel the same way and may even be grateful if you would pass along our name to those who may be interested in finding a trusted remodeler. To thank you for referrals that may result, we have included a 20% savings coupon in this issue.

In closing, we'd like to say that Attention to Detail appreciates your friendship and business.

Sincerely,

David & Alison Sturm

Reminder: Autumn is a good time to check your furnace filter.

To prepare for the winter months ahead you or your HVAC serviceperson should check to see if your furnace filter is dirty.
If it is then go ahead and change it. Clean filters allow for greater airflow leading to warmer homes and reduced allergens.

On regular one inch filters be sure to check them once a month to get optimum usage. Any longer reduces the effectiveness of the output as well as the service life of the unit and leads to costly repairs.

You may want to have your HVAC person check your A-coil as well. This has a tendency to trap dust and dirt, and will reduce your cooling capacity.

Also consider an upgrade from the standard fiberglass filter (most common type) to a new microfiber filter. Microfiber filters take out more dust, pollutants, and allergens than the common fiberglass ones.

Energy Efficiency: What Are Low-E Windows and Are They Worth the Extra Cost?

Whether replacing windows in an older house or choosing windows for a new house, your decisions on what type of windows to buy will be among the most important decisions you will make in terms of energy use.  The best window glazings today insulate almost four times as well as the best commonly available windows from twenty years ago.

Low-E windows are designed to reflect heat. Compounds are affixed to the glass, which reflect heat waves away from the window. The average home with 10-18 windows will save enough on energy bills to pay for the Lo-E windows within a couple of years. Read on...
